Learn To Ride TrackTrack Information

The 250m cycling track at Pilditch Stadium is the center for track cycling in Gauteng North. It has a concrete surface and 47 degree banks. There is secure parking at the main entrance to the stadium in Maltzan Street in Pretoria West. The track is open to members from 5 am until 10 pm every day; lights are only on for organised training sessions and races. To become a member of Pilditch Stadium take two ID photos and R35 to the Pilditch offices.

Loan bikes are available for new riders who want to try the track. "Learn To Ride Track" classes are held regularly, check the page for more details. With the encouragement of national champions and experienced track riders, Pilditch is the ideal training ground for enthusiastic youngsters to learn the bike skills that will help them become the stars of the future. Four day long "Youth Track Cycling" courses are presented to teach new young riders the skills required to train and race on the track. Registration at Youth Track Cycling is required for these courses. Organised training sessions are held on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6 o'clock. Please check our calendar for specific details. Competing at Pilditch presents a unique opportunity to practice the tactics needed to win on the short tracks found overseas and at national championships.
