The cycling track at Pilditch is open to members from five in the morning until ten in the evening for training. Lights are only turned on for races and organised training sessions as detailed below.

Group training sessions

Tuesdays and Thursdays - 6 pm (warm up begins at 6 pm so please be ready to ride by then)

Group training sessions are held Tuesday and Thursday evenings.

Organised training sessions are open to riders who have completed one of our introductory programs: Learn To Ride Track or Youth Track Cycling. All riders attending group training sessions are expected to participate in the group session and follow the session leader's instructions. No individual training will be allowed between 6pm and the end of the group session (around 7:30). Individual sessions must be completed before 6pm or done after the group session.

On training nights the storeroom will open at 5:30pm and will close at 6pm. This is not much time to issue the bikes, especially if saddle positions and pedals need to be changed. So please be on time and be prepared with your saddle height and pedals in hand.

Training will start at 6pm with a 20-30 minute warm-up in a controlled group paceline (35 km/h for 10 minutes, 37 km/h for 5 minutes, 40 km/h for 5 minutes and finishing with a 5 lap burn out). After this the group will be split into appropriate sizes for the day's training session. Tuesday evening sessions will be focused on sprint and explosive power efforts. Thursday evening sessions will be focused on pursuit and endurance efforts.

Details of efforts to be done on any given day will be posted under the event's calendar post.

If a training session is canceled due to bad weather or any other occurrence beyond our control, it will be posted on our FaceBook page (this is also visible on the track page).
